Some innovative artwork is on display at the Vt. Statehouse this week.
It's called "Inherently unstable and prone to collapse." The work by Burlington artist Beth Haggart includes 3,000 disposable plastic water bottles and is similar to the one she created at the University of Vermont last year. Haggart says the title and the art carry an important message.
"Inherently unstable and prone to collapse-- the sculpture is that, so is the environment, so is the situation with all the waste and the pollution that we have. You know there's so many things in our world right now that are unstable, and so to me it's a title that you could bring it into anywhere," Haggart said.
State Senator Ginny Lyons spearheaded the display to call attention to failed efforts in the Legislature to expand Vermont's bottle bill.
