Students Given a Look at the Real Business of Medical Device Markets by the Global Authority on Medical Technology Market Intelligence

TORONTO, March 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Ā Millennium Research Group (MRG), the global authority on medical technology market intelligence, recently sponsored a case competition at Western University in Ontario, giving students a first-hand look at the real business of medical device markets. This is the second year MRG has run this competition.

Each student group was challenged to perform a full market and company analysis in competition with the other teams. To succeed, they had to present an account of the market landscape, assess a specific company and provide a set of strategic recommendations. The case was set up to give students a clear idea of the types of research MRG does and the insights it provides its clients.

A total of 12 teams competed. The top three teams made a presentation to representatives from MRG. The winning team consisted of Elvis Y H Chen, Patti Wang, Nanxi Li and Jonathan Li, and received a prize of $1,500 and an informational interview at MRG.

Two other finalist teams won prizes of $500. They were:

Second place: Fraser Gray-Smith, Sumiya Abdul Mannan, Meagan Kehl and Alessia Toritto

Third place: Supreet Randhawa, Alicia Allen, Kevin Yaraskavitch and Michelle Amri

"We were so impressed by the caliber of the participants last year that we decided to run this competition again," said MRG HR Manager Leigh Chappell. "And we were certainly glad we did. Given the fact that they had only two and a half days to prepare, all of the teams did a fantastic job. They now know something about what it's like to be an MRG Analyst, and we'd love to see some of them back in that role."
