SPRINGFIELD, Vt. (AP) - What some call "the best little fair in Vermont" is on hiatus for the 2013 season.
The Windsor County Agricultural Fair has been canceled due to a steep attendance decline and a shortage of volunteers.
The Eagle Times reports the 2-day fair typically operates in mid-summer, but the organizing committee decided to put it on hiatus until they can find new volunteers, a new model to attract larger crowds and potentially a new location.
The fair was established in the mid-19th century and has moved around the county from Woodstock to Hartland and Windsor. It has resided at Barlow's Field in Springfield for the last 39 years.
The fair was canceled in 2010 when organizers couldn't find enough volunteers.
