Vermont police say an arrest warrant has been issued for a woman suspected of robbing the Union Bank in Hardwick.
The warrant was issued Wednesday for Susan Braig, 29. She's charged with assault and robbery in the Sept. 6, 2012, bank robbery. She has not yet been taken into custody.
The bank on Route 15 in Hardwick was robbed by a person police said at the time was a man. They said the robber handed a note to a teller demanding cash, and then fled on foot.
Police in Hardwick say they didn't have a suspect until they were contacted by Connecticut State Police in January. Connecticut police were investigating five bank robberies there. The two agencies compared photographs and evidence in their cases, and in February they met with Braig and her lawyer. Based on that meeting, police filed an arrest warrant for Braig.
Braig used to live in Winooski but now she lives in Connecticut.
