JONESVILLE, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Transportation Agency is going to close the southbound passing lane of Interstate 89 in Jonesville so loose ledge rocks can be removed.
The agency says concrete barriers will be set up starting Monday and the speed limit reduced to 55 mph.
The state says a recent rock fall in the area showed there is more loose material there that could be dangerous to the traveling public.
Work crews are going to install a "catch net" to secure the area.
The work is expected to last a week.
