Plattsburgh considers major housing development

Posted: Updated:

The city of Plattsburgh is considering a major housing development at a former Air Force hospital.

The 96-unit apartment complex is proposed for the city's South End, where New York Road and Route 9 meet. The lot has been vacant since the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base Hospital was demolished back in 2006 to make way for development there.

At a meeting Monday night, developers said the project would be completed over an eight-year period. But the Plattsburgh Press-Republican reports some at the meeting were concerned about the project's size.
