Milton students and WCAX headed to the White House

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Five students from Milton Elementary School are heading to the White House.

First lady Michelle Obama liked the fifth-graders' essays about food so much, she invited them to help plant the White House Garden. It's part of the first lady's push for healthy eating and exercise. The students take off Wednesday and will be at the White House Thursday afternoon.

So will WCAX News' Bridget Barry Caswell and photographer Joe Carroll. They got an invite from the White House, too. They'll get to see the kids in the garden and Bridget will have an exclusive interview Michelle Obama.

You can see Bridget and Joe's reports starting Thursday morning on Channel 3.
