Saturday at 3:30pm on WCAX, a special feature will air on Kelly Brush-Davisson and the Kelly Brush Foundation. Brush-Davisson was a standout skier who suffered a severe spinal cord injury during a crash her sophomore year at Middlebury College in 2006. Since then, Kelly has dedicated her life to improving the quality of life for individuals with spinal cord injuries by purchasing adaptive sports equipment, while also supporting spinal cord injury research and advocating improved ski race safety through her foundation.
Brush-Davisson is one of four former NCAA athletes who have started charitable foundations that was chosen to featured in the program that will air Saturday at 3:30pm right here on WCAX. Kelly knows this time of exposure can lead to great things for her Foundation.
"We just keep getting bigger and bigger each year," Brush-Davisson said.
"This year we gave out a record number of grants, hopefully next year we can give out even more. The more research we do, the more adaptive equipment we can buy. If this national story helps one more person, than that's awesome."
