Knives may soon be allowed on airplanes, but guns are still a no-no.
Security screeners in Plattsburgh thought they had a gun incident on their hands Saturday when an x-ray scan detected a gun-shaped object in a carry-on bag.
Upon closer inspection, TSA officers determined the item was actually just a cigarette lighter meant to look like a gun. Even replica guns are not allowed, so the item was seized and the passenger was allowed to board his flight. But having such items in your luggage can result in major fines.
