Green Mountain Coffee founder recognized for generosity

Posted: Updated:
WATERBURY, Vt. -

The founder of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters is being recognized for his generosity.

Bob Stiller and his wife, Christine, established the Stiller Family Foundation to share some of the tremendous wealth they earned from the Waterbury coffee company.

Now, the foundation has been named the Most Outstanding Foundation in the country by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

The Stiller Family Foundation has focused much of its giving in Vermont, including $10 million to Champlain College last year. The award also notes the initiatives that Stiller established at Green Mountain Coffee, including the fair trade movement and donating 5 percent of profits each year to social causes.
