A Wednesday morning vote will send pot decriminalization to the Vermont House floor.
The bill would create a civil penalty-- a $100 fine-- for those caught with less than 1 ounce of marijuana.
The House Judiciary Committee scrapped provisions decriminalizing a larger amount and tolerances for plants. Chairman Bill Lippert says they've also settled on further studying how to identify and prosecute drugged drivers.
"Because they are frankly more complex than we're prepared to address comprehensively, but we believe that's an important aspect," said Rep. Lippert, D-Hinesburg.
The House is considered the biggest obstacle to passage for the bill.
Proposals to legalize marijuana do not have any momentum at this point in time.
