A powerful cover photo on Sports Illustrated shows the Boston bombings right after the explosions-- and also features a native Vermonter.
The picture, taken by a Boston Globe photographer, shows three police officers and a wounded runner. The photo was taken at 2:50 p.m.-- just seconds after the explosion. The police woman on the left is Rutland native Rachel Olanoff. She graduated from Rutland High in 2000 and went on to play lacrosse at Boston University, where she graduated with a degree in psychology and sociology.
We reached out to the Olanoff family. Rachel's dad tells WCAX News he is very proud of his daughter, but the family is not ready to talk on camera yet.
