MONTPELIER, Vt. -

A court settlement in a case of campaign finance violations stemming from the 2010 gubernatorial campaign of Republican Brian Dubie.

The attorney general sued the Dubie Campaign and the Republican Governors Association for illegal coordination after Dubie shared polling data that the RGA used to create a media campaign on Dubie's behalf. Under a settlement approved by a judge, the RGA will pay a $30,000 civil penalty. Dubie will pay a $10,000 penalty and also make a $10,000 donation to the Vermont Food Bank.
