Several FBI agents in Vermont have been deployed to Boston.
Tris Coffin is the U.S. attorney for Vermont. He says Vermonters at the marathon also helped in the investigation by sending in many photographs and video from that day. Coffin says in his career, he's never seen anything like this-- where a city and surrounding communities are in lockdown. He would not comment on the investigation, but says FBI agents from Vermont are in Boston.
"Our FBI has been actively deployed from the earliest stages of this," Coffin said. "We have an outstanding bomb technician who was deployed down there immediately after the event. Evidence recovery team members are down there and more recently members of our tactical unit have been deployed down to Boston."
Coffin says he has also reached out to the U.S. attorney in Massachusetts to offer help.
