Some BTV passengers to use port-o-potties

Posted: Updated:

Restroom renovations at the Burlington International Airport will force some passengers to use port-o-potties.

Demolition begins Tuesday on bathrooms in the north concourse. The 20 year-old restrooms are slated for a makeover, but that requires the facilities to remain closed for about three months. The airport has set-up four temporary port-o-potties below the concourse. Officials, however, are encouraging travelers to take care of business in the terminal.

"We're asking them to use the restrooms and use the washrooms, if possible, before they come into the secured area. That's the United Airlines and the U.S. Airways passengers at the north gates," said Doug Wood with Burlington International Airport.

Airport officials said they are still working on a fix for visitors who want to wash their hands. In the meantime, hand sanitizers will be provided.
