Delays for Interstate 89 drivers expected

Posted: Updated:
BERLIN, Vt. -

Commuters on Interstate 89 in Berlin can expect some delays Wednesday morning.

The interstate will have rolling roadblocks between exits 7 and 8 Wednesday so that crews can work on overhead cables.

The Vermont Agency of Transportation says that will last from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. -- and drivers should use caution.

Brent Curtis from VTrans talks about that project -- and other planned construction projects around the state, including these projects planned in St. Johnsbury:

1. On I 91-S, From Newbury To St. Johnsbury: Construction: Paving Project to include milling and resurfacing full width. Project also includes guardrail work. Project is expected to last until the end of September 2013.

2. St. Johnsbury, VT 2B: Lane Closure - Reduced To One Lane: Bridge 86 on VT 2B over I-91 will be reduced to 1 lane for deck work. Traffic control devices will be used, 13 foot width and a 40 mph speed restriction.

3. St. Johnsbury, US 2: Construction: Bridge 108 on US 2 by VT 18 in St. J. Replacement project, temp bridge by May. 20 mph speed restriction.
