SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Author Angie Harris from Grand Isle joins us for Books Over Breakfast to talk about her new works.

"The Realm: Book One of the Gates of the Realm Series" is about a young storm chaser from Amarillo, Texas, named Alec Nestor who wakes up one morning after chasing storms to find himself stranded within another dimension. He befriends an elf who discovers through the use of his powers that Alec was brought to Mantra by an unknown powerful being. He decides that Alec must be brought before the Elders of Surrindale to inform them of a breach within the Aura's Gates as well as Alec's presence. They rally assistance from the dwarves for the treacherous journey to meet with the Elders. Along the way, they encounter many obstacles and must battle the forces which have brought Alec to Mantra. Alec learns many things during the journey about Mantra's residents as well as himself and his own heritage.

Her other work is a children's picture book, "Momma's Little Helpers." This story takes place during Christmas. Five young sisters discover that their Momma is ill and needs help. Knowing that they cannot provide her with the help that she needs, the sisters seek assistance from higher powers, which they consider friends. The story begins with the young girls using their Christmas wish to Santa to ask him to send angels to protect their sick Momma. Santa gets their wish and places it on the top of his list. He grants their wish for angels and takes them upon a journey to rally support for their sick Momma. The young girls turn to their magical friends bringing in the amazing powers of dragons and unicorns. Santa even convinces them to obtain the good luck of the leprechauns by hiding a leprechaun's gold so that they can convince him to help by giving his gold back to him.
