In Enosburgh, fire crews had to use ATVs to truck water to a mountain fire Wednesday. More than 10 acres burned on Enosburgh Mountain Road. A homeowner was burning brush and it got out of control. It quickly spread. Firefighters had to carry water and battled the blaze using hand tools because vehicles couldn't reach the scene.
It took more than four hours for them to get the fire out.
There will be fewer school districts in Vermont if Gov. Peter Shumlin has his way. The governor is urging the Legislature to produce a bill for him to sign. The plan has lawmakers nervous because it could lead to loss of local control.More >>
