Marble Valley Regional Transit District is extending services with additional routes.
The Bus, which currently runs five days a week, will add a Saturday service for the Rutland to Middlebury connector. And a midday service will be available to riders. The extra trip will bring the daily total to six round trips between the two cities.
"Prior to this, they were kind of stranded in Rutland, or didn't use the service. If you came in from Brandon in the morning, you were stuck there until evening," said Ken Putnam of the Marble Valley Regional Transit District.
The Bus is also adding a service from Burlington to Rutland. Currently there is only a route up to Burlington, but the ride home ends in Middlebury. The new route is by request only, so a rider has to call one day in advance for the service.
