Kevin O'Shea and Rory Nunamacher combined for 13 points to lead Hartford over Vermont, 17-11, in an America East matchup Saturday afternoon from Virtue Field. Hartford moves to 7-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play, and will move on to play in the America East semifinals. Vermont wraps up its season with a 4-10 record overall and a 1-4 mark in league play.
Senior Drew Philie led the way for the Catamounts, tallying a team-high six points on five goals and one assist in his final game at UVM. Graham Horvath also chipped in with three goals and one assist, and senior AJ Masson added two scores in his final game at Vermont.
At halftime of Saturday's game, Henry and Leo Fenollosa were honored and welcomed as honorary members of the University of Vermont men's lacrosse team in partnership with the Northeast Classic. This year the Fenollosa family participated as part of the Inspirational Families Program with the Northeast Classic in Massachusetts. Henry is a young boy who has overcome incredible odds and was born a cancer fighter. Henry and Leo were both presented with a special team jersey.
