Taylor Coppenrath is one of the most accomplished basketball players ever to come out of the state of Vermont. Now the former UVM star is being recognized for his achievements as a member of the Class of 2013 of the New England Basketball Hall of Fame.
Coppenrath led the Catamounts to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, capped by the Cats upset of Syracuse in the first round of the Tournament in 2005. He was a three-time America East player of the year, a Wooden Award finalist his senior season and graduated as the second leading scoring in program history.
After leaving UVM, the St. Johnsbury Academy alum has embarked on an extremely successful 8-year professional career in Europe, the past six in Spain's top division, Liga ACB. He was named MVP of the Spanish Prince Cup in 2010. The Hall of Fame ceremony will be Saturday, June 22nd at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.
