CLAREMONT, N.H. (AP) - A Sullivan County grand jury has indicted a New Hampshire man on charges he tried to destroy drug evidence while engaging in a brief standoff with police who wanted to search his home.
Anthony Jarvis, 33, of Claremont, was indicted on two charges of falsifying physical evidence, one charge of drug possession and one charge of drug possession with an intent to sell.
The Valley News reports the indictment says Jarvis believed probation officers were about to search his home on Feb. 22 as part of a drug investigation. He's accused of burning marijuana in his wood stove and breaking containers that had another drug.
Jarvis, whose father was killed in a police standoff in 2008, surrendered after a three-hour standoff with police at his home.
