Tourism is the topic in Albany this week, as Governor Andrew Cuomo and officials from across the state meet for the first time to determine its impact.
The summit's goal is to figure out ways to boost tourism, which is the state's fifth largest employer.
In our region, the Adirondacks rely heavily on tourism, according to new numbers. An estimated 5.3 million visitors stay overnight in the region every year, and travelers spend about $1.2 billion there. And Adirondack tourism also supports more than 19,500 jobs.
