NEWPORT, Vt. -

The teens arrested for setting off bottle bombs in Newport say they did it because they were bored and looking for something to do.

Joshua Tompkins, 19, Jason Hatin, 18, and Colin Brennan, 16, were arraigned Tuesday.

Police say last week two bombs built by the teens exploded outside a home on Concord Avenue, shattering a window. Eight other bottle bombs found on the property were disarmed.

Police say under questioning the teens admitted to building the bombs. They say they chose the target at random and didn't intend any harm.
