BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Two high ranking officials are being indicted by a grand jury.

Phil Ciotti served as an investigator for the Vermont Medical Practice Board and a former customs agent, and is now charged in connection with federal tax and gun violations.

Richard Bernholz, a former ICE Agent, pleaded guilty to filing a false tax return and assisting in filing inadquate reports by a federal firearms licensee.

In 2011, agents seized 500 guns from Ciotti's home in St Johnsbury and 150 guns from Bernholz home in Franklin.

They said the guns were used in a Boston homicide and a Brockton shooting. Ciotti's lawyer said he plans to plead not guilty.
