Senators Leahy and Sanders had visitors at their Burlington offices Friday afternoon.
Members of the Vermont Workers' Center and the group Migrant Justice stopped by both locations with Mother's Day cards for the Congressmen. The notes were designed to garner more support for homecare workers who provide services to seniors and folks with disabilities.
"My goal was to come together with some of the others and recognize this national day of caring across generations," said Amanda Sheppard, a homecare provider.
The group was able to meet directly with Senator Sanders to share their concerns. They left their information with staff at Senator Leahy's office.
