Finishing touches are underway in downtown Winooski for the third annual Waking Windows event.
"It's got nice imagery to it-- the idea of throwing windows open," promoter Paddy Reagan explained. "It's a way to bring together a lot of local and regional bands in Winooski."
From country to indie rock, 66 bands will rock out around the downtown.
"With the absence of anything going on in these spaces and in Winooski Falls way, it feels like an underutilized space," Reagan said.
Bands will play in multiple venues in downtown Winooski. They'll be coming from places like Montreal and Austin, Texas. Music promotion company Angioplasty Media is putting the event on. Organizers are hoping for up to 400 festival-goers.
"It feels like something special that we can include our friends and the community in," Reagan said.
The event starts Friday and will go until Saturday night; $20 will get you a weekend pass.
