Two red-hot Vermont teams took their streaks on the road in high school lacrosse Friday.
In a battle of boys teams, Lamoille used seven goals from John Sciortino to blast Rice 16-3. Marcus Wadlington added three goals and three assists. The Lancers improve to 8-1 on the season.
It was a much tighter girls contest in Essex where undefeated South Burlington used a three-goal rally late to down the Hornets. Rebels attacker Anne-Marie Farmer tied the game on a free position shot. A few minutes later, teammate Sarah Fisher put her team ahead for the last time as they hold on for a 9-8 win.
