A bizarre search for a child in Rutland remains a mystery. Police say no new tips have surfaced since the initial 911 call Thursday evening.
Rescue crews searched overnight and all day Friday after a driver reported she was approached by a what appeared to be an injured 6 or 7 year old girl who then ran into the woods. Crews found no evidence and police say there are no missing children in Vermont or the Northeast who match the girl's description. Police are still trying to locate a second possible witness. He's described as a white man in his 20s to 30s, with shoulder length dreadlocks, driving a truck with Oregon plates.
