BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A Vermont man with a long history of threatening public officials and hatching bombing plots could soon be living in a community facility in Vermont for people with serious mental illnesses.

A federal judge ruled Monday that Roger Stockham, 65, could be released safely into the community as long as he took his daily medications.

Stockham was arrested in 2011 for plotting to blow up the nation's largest mosque in Dearborn, Mich. Authorities later found his van loaded with explosives.

Stockham was on probation at the time after previous arrests for threatening the VA hospital in White River Junction, the Veterans Center in Colchester and President Bush.
