Keene class wins NH video tourism contest

Posted: Updated:

KEENE, N.H. (AP) - A fourth-grade class from Keene, N.H., has won a trip to the top of Mount Washington by creating a video that promotes tourism spots around the state.

Debbie Sawyer's class at Wheelock Elementary School was awarded the grand prize Wednesday in the state tourism division's "Class Act" contest. The contest challenged fourth-graders to create one-minute videos attracting visitors to the state.

The winning video puts a New Hampshire twist on the "Magic School Bus" book series, inviting viewers to tour each of the state's 10 counties on a "Magic Segway." The Segway scooters were invented in New Hampshire.

The grand prize is a field trip on the Mount Washington Cog Railway.
