Holland, Vt. -

Vermont State Police have charged 22-year-old Adam Page of Newport with the theft of a Newport City Elementary School bus Friday night.

A stolen dog was also recovered in the bus and is reported fine. Police believe that Adam Page broke into a woman's home in Morgan and stole the Chocolate Lab before crashing the bus.

Page is also charged with attempting to take a Toyota truck from a resident on Toad Pond Rd. and later a Ford truck from a home on Rt. 111 in Morgan. Page is being charged with 3 counts of operating without owner's consent, leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a criminally suspended license, and burglary.

Vermont State Police are still investigating and say more charges could be pending. Anyone that might have seen the bus being operated on May 17th around 9pm is asked to contact the State Police Derby barracks.
