Thursday at the Vermont Business Expo, GW Plastics won the 23rd annual Deane C. Davis outstanding business award.
In front of a packed lobby at the Sheraton, Gov. Peter Shumlin presented the D.C. Davis plaque to the Bethel company. GW Plastic was chosen out of numerous nominees, and Shumlin says the company displayed the highest standard of excellence.
"It feels pretty good. It feels really good actually. We have worked really hard and a lot of times you don't really get recognized for all the hard work you do, so when you do, it's a big deal," said Cathy Tempesta of GW Plastics.
The companies were based on a criteria including growth in sales or employment and a commitment to the environment and surrounding community.
