Kidnapping arrests in Brattleboro

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -

Four people are behind bars, charged with kidnapping and burglary.

Brattleboro police say just before 1 p.m. Thursday, a group of people forced two women into a car at gunpoint. Police caught up to them and found the women and arrested three of the suspects.

The fourth, they say, went to an apartment at 125 Canal Street, where he was holed up in the building with a baby. Police were able to rescue the child and then arrest the man.

Marcus Koritz, 19, of Springfield, Mass., Jacobina Carter, 38, of Brattleboro, James Manning, 29, and Salahdin Trowell, 30, of Jersey City, N.J., are now facing charges.

Police say more arrests are expected.
