State police said the fires happened at a home in Topsham on May 14 and at a sugar shack in Ryegate on May 15. Both structures were unoccupied.
Three of the five have been accused of playing a role in both fires: 18-year-old Matthew Whalen, 17-year-old Jared Grant, and 20-year-old Dalton Harrington. All are from Groton.
Also arrested were 17-year-old Nicholas Gordan of Groton and 18-year-old Cody Ricker of East Ryegate.
The charges range from aiding in the commission of a felony to first- and second-degree arson.
