Centennial Field gets seat upgrade

Posted: Updated:

The Vermont Lake Monsters open their 2013 season at Tri-City on June 17th. The Monsters home opener is three days later, Thursday the 20th and when fans arrive they will see plenty of changes to Centennial Field.

The big change, you won't have to sit on concrete any more. 1,500 brand new permanent seats have been installed over what was the general admission sections down the first and third base lines. There will also be much less foul territory. The backstop behind home plate has been moved 12 feet closer, with roughly 100 seats added to give fans a field level view.

There will be new, wider dugouts and the fences down the first and third base lines have also been moved in 10-20 feet. And with less foul territory, both the home and visiting bullpens have been moved behind the right field fence. Plenty of changes, designed to improve the fan experience at the historic ballpark.
