The public will have a chance to buy old state vehicles Saturday morning.

The Department of Buildings and General Services will hold its annual surplus vehicles auction in Berlin. Interested bidders can preview over 80 vehicles before the auction, beginning at 8 a.m. The auction will start at 10:00.

Around 100 vehicles are up for grabs -- everything from police cruisers to snowmobiles. "When the last vehicle is sold then we start doing paperwork and then we do paperwork for a couple of hours because not only can you buy the vehicle here, you can register it here, so you can drive it home, you can actually get plates and drive the vehicle home," said Bill Beard, the state's Surplus Property Officer.

All of the money from the auction will go into the state budget. This year organizers hope to take in about $600,000.
