With rain storm after rain storm hitting the region, the first 6 weeks of this year's racing season have been more of a wash than anything else. Hopefully, Thunder Road's Twilight Event Sunday is the start of a much dryer summer schedule.
Sunny skies in Barre for the late afternoon three-race feature, kicked off by the New England Antique Racers These fine gentlemen, showing us how it was done back in the day.
However on this day, a much rougher showing. In the Tiger feature, No.23 Marshfield's Matthew Potter taking out a chunk of the field in this wicked spin out. Luckily for Hyde Park's Tucker Williams, he avoids the drama and picks up his fifth career win.
In the street stocks, it was a familiar face making moves on the track and not the mat. State wrestling champion Kyle Streeter, out of Harwood, showing he's got moves behind the wheel. He snag in the lead in the fifth lap enroute to his second career win.
And then to the Late Model feature. Only 50 laps so this was a sprint. Two drivers going for the checkered midway through, The No.68 of Fayston's Brooks Clark and Milton's Jean-Paul-Cyr in the No.32. And it's Clark looking red hot who takes the last lead and his second career victory with his family looking on. Cyr second, Barre's Lance Allen was third.
