The Eagle Scout is the highest award in Boy Scouts. It requires scouts to earn at least 21 merit badges and finish an extensive service project. Most scouts are 17 by the time they achieve this award. But a scout in central Vermont has become an Eagle Scout at 12 years old. His parents researched and say TJ DeRose is the third youngest in the country to get this honor.
