WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. -

A sentencing hearing for a drunk driver in Sharon lasted seven hours.

Carlos Garcia was 19 years old when he got behind the wheel after a day of drinking and plowed into a car driven by a Texas judge near the Sharon Fire Station back in October 2011. She was severely injured. Her sister, who was also in the car, was killed.

Garcia was sentenced to 5-15 years in jail, with an emphasis on substance abuse treatment during that time.
