Spare Time Lanes in Colchester hosted a nine-pin tournament Sunday for all ages. The event was a fundraising effort for two Vermont High School students, CVU sophomore Tyler Richards and Middlebury Freshman Anissa Martin. They are two of four Vermonters who qualified for the Junior Gold Bowling Championships to be held July 11th-13th in Detroit, Michigan. The estimated travel cost for the event in Detroit is $2000. 2500 of the top youth bowlers from across the Country will be there. They will be playing for scholarships and a chance to make the U.S. Junior team. There will be other fundraising events including a Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, June 22 at Vergennes Union High School.
