After days of confusion, the town of Hancock has approved a school budget.
Monday night, residents voted for a third time on the budget. The vote was 12-6 in favor. But the moderator said that wasn't good enough because a more than two-thirds majority vote is needed.
But after contacting the state's election agency, residents found out that a two-thirds majority is only needed for rescinding votes. So, it turns out the budget of $866,000 was approved.
