WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. (AP) - Vermont prosecutors say a suspect in a drug-related shooting is facing new charges for allegedly asking witnesses to change their stories.
Twenty-nine year-old Terrick Craft of Springfield pleaded not guilty Friday in Windsor Superior Court to an obstruction of justice charge for allegedly trying to get witnesses to file conflicting statements about the shooting.
Craft has been in jail for nearly a year awaiting a trial on attempted second-degree murder and other charges in connection with a shooting in downtown Springfield last July.
Prosecutors say Craft tried to gun down another man in what they call a drug- and gang-related shooting.
A judge on Friday ordered Craft to not have contact with a cousin of his and another man while he's awaiting trial.
