Finding your inner Tarzan at new Smuggs attraction

Posted: Updated:
JEFFERSONVILLE, Vt. -

A new attraction has people looking up, at Arbortrek Canopy Adventures at Smugglers' Notch.

The treetop obstacle course allows visitors to explore life in the trees and ultimately forces them to overcome challenges throughout -- from point A to point B.

"We have balance beams, we have wobbly bridges, we have rope swings, we have some zip lines up there, and the events all culminate in a jump off of platforms," said Arbortek's Mike Smith.

Like ski slopes, the 50 platforms range from green to blue to black skill levels, depending on your age -- and willingness -- to take a leap of faith. "If you're looking to get physical and get a workout in, then come for the climbing adventure at the treetop course," Smith said.

Riders wear harnesses and get a crash course -- tapping into their inner-Tarzans.

Then get ready to fly, or climb, or simply fall. Whatever the case, expect to have fun, while pushing your limits.

Reporter Melissa Sheketoff: This is the hardest physical thing I've ever had to do as a reporter.

The price for 2.5 hours of monkey business comes to $55. And for another $10 you can scale the facility's brand new climbing walls -- plenty to do once your feet leave the ground.

"This is a great opportunity for families, for events, for corporations to come out. But I think for individuals and small groups, it's a great date night and it's a great opportunity to come out and challenge yourself," Smith said.

A good time had by all -- overcoming obstacles from above.
