UVM Men's Basketball Coach John Becker is holding a week long basketball camp and for the first day, he brought in the big guns. Taylor Coppenrath spoke to the campers for 20 minutes Monday, talking about his career and secrets to success.
"That's one of the biggest keys that you can do is work hard," Coppenrath told the young hoop players. "You want to be the best most well rounded player you can be."
While Coppenrath was in for the day, two other former Catamounts, Marqus Blakely and Matt Glass, will be assisting coach Becker all week.
"Last year I was in the Philippines so I wasn't able to come out here," Blakely said. "But the league was pushed back, so I'm just going to go a little later, so I got to come up here to Vermont and see everybody. It's been great."
"I was in their shoes a long time ago, sitting and listening to the lectures, being part of the game," Glass Said. "So to be on the other side of that and giving back putting a smile on their face is special."
Blakely hopes to catch on with an NBA Summer League team before heading back to the Philippines. Glass is debating a return to Malta, where he had great success last season.
