Meet the Monsters June 25, 2013

This week we are featuring the Williston AAA Dodgers.  After starting the season 0-2, the Dodgers won 7 of their last 8.  Five of the players made the Williston 9-10 All-Star team.

Riley, a 9 years old shortstop asks, "What is your favorite baseball memory?"

Chad Pinder, Lake Monsters Shortstop: "That's a great question Riley.  My favorite baseball memory would have to be our run in the ACC tournament.  We had a pool of Virginia, Florida State and Georgia Tech and we went 3-0.  The first game we won, 10-1 against UVA.  The second we won, 3-2 on a walk off and our third game we also won against Georgia Tech.  That would definitely be my favorite baseball memory up until this point."

Colin, a 9 year old first baseman asks, "What's your favorite part about stealing a base?"

Austin Booker, Lake Monsters Outfielder:  "Well Colin, I guess my favorite part about stealing a base is actually stealing the base; knowing that I was able to get there safely.  That's a tough question.  I guess I never really thought about that, so I guess it's being safe at second after stealing."

Tanner, a 9 year old pitcher asks, "What was your lowest ERA and when did you get it?"

Trevor Bayless, Lake Monsters Pitcher:  "That's a good question, Tanner.  Last year in my senior year of college I had a 2.10 ERA, but the lowest ERA I had in my career was my first summer ball after my sophomore year.  I had an ERA around 1.50 in the Alaska Baseball League."
