IROC may have a buyer

DERBY, Vt. -

The largest recreation facility in the Northeast Kingdom may get a new lease on life.

The Indoor Recreation of Orleans County facility known as IROC was taken over by the Community National Bank in March.

The former chair of the IROC board of directors says the bank now has a buyer, although a name has not been revealed. The new owner apparently does not plan to use the facility as a community center.

The owner of Sticks and Stuff confirmed to WCAX News that he has been to Derby to look at the building, but has not purchased it. When asked if he is considering a purchase, he declined to comment.
