Dana School in Rutland sold

Posted: Updated:
RUTLAND, Vt. -

The Dana School building in Rutland now has a new owner.

The Rutland Herald reports the Board of Aldermen unanimously approved the sale of the former school to the Giancola family for $50,000.

The proceeds are going to the city's school district.

The school is on the corner of East and East Center streets and temporarily housed the city's recreation department.

It was shut down by the mayor for fire code violations back in 2011.
