Despite all the recent rain, Fourth of July festivities went ahead in St. Albans Sunday.
The annual event is held at Bay Park. The celebrations kicked off with a canoe race and games in the park. Volunteers and organizers helped make sure the holiday festivities went on, with or without the sunshine.
"This is the 34th year of the great race," said Danielle Roberts a park staff member. "There's a lot of volunteers. I know the Church of the Rock came through yesterday and helped us clean up all the trash and sticks in the park, so they're a lot of help."
After canoeing, participants received some help relaxing with venders and live music.
