A warning from the governor -- as more rain is heading our way.
Governor Peter Shumlin wants Vermonters to stay out of the water, even if they're swimming in a familiar spot. There have been at least four drownings in the last ten days. Water levels are high, currents are fast and strong, and river and stream beds have shifted.
"We're very, very concerned. Obviously we've already had millions of dollars in damage to our roads and bridges. We've seen way too many Vermonters perish in our small brooks and rivers that have turned into gushers," Shumlin said.
The Governor is reminding everyone to use common sense and to not drive over standing water and be on alert, especially if you are in an area that's flooded before.
